| Join Adelphi faculty, alumni & friends on June 10 as we pay tribute to a beloved professor, Greg Gutman. Remarks by Brad Gutman, Prof. Gutman's brother.
This location was chosen to commemorate Prof. Gutman's establishment of the Adelphi on Wheels program, during which Adelphi M.B.A. classes were taught on the LIRR's Main Line in the 70's & 80's
A Scholarship in Management Education was established at Adelphi University in 2003 through a bequest from the late Professor Gregory Peter Gutman, a distinguished faculty member of the School of Business. Professor Gutman set high standards for himself and his students, and dedicated his entire adult life to helping students attain success. Among his other accomplishments and his many contributions to the life of Adelphi, he was the founding Director of "Adelphi-on-Wheels," the innovative "commuter classroom" on the Long Island Railroad and other metropolitan commuter trains. This unique academic program, which offered graduate courses leading to the Master of Business Administration degree, was initiated in 1971 and lasted until 1987.
The annual income from Professor Gutman’s endowed fund provides a $5,000 scholarship to an undergraduate student majoring in Management, preferably Marketing, who meets the following requirements: the student must have a GPA of at least 3.3 and have shown leadership achievement in high school or college.
