A Message from the Adelphi University Multicultural Chapter President
It is with great pride and pleasure that I greet you on behalf of the Multicultural Chapter of the Adelphi Alumni Association. As we move into our second year as a chapter, our focus remains the same.
Our Chapter Focus:
- To support the University’s commitment to diversity;
- To provide networking opportunities for alumni of color and a vehicle for a continued relationship with Adelphi;
- To support, mentor, and educate the current students of color enrolled at the University; and
- To restore LOST historical information as it pertains to alumni of color.
The accomplishments of our inaugural year are many. Our impact has been most impressive and has contributed to the overall renaissance of the Adelphi community. Last year, we made sure that our world record-breaking mile relay team of 1972 took its rightful place in the University's Athletic Hall of Fame. This event not only reunited some of the school's greatest athletes, it made us proud, and reminded us all of Adelphi's role in the global world of track and field history. We continue to help improve the nomination process for future inductees, and now alumni can freely participate via the Internet.
Our chapter continues to support the Alumni Office and encourages you to attend alumni gatherings when possible. These gatherings are essential to our expansion, and provide venues for the exchange of information and ideas, and general re-acquaintance opportunities leading up to Reunion Weekend in June.
So come join us, as we reach out to more of our alums and raise scholarship funds to ensure that diversity continues to be a key element of the Adelphi experience. We'd love to hear from you. Please visit the Adelphi University Web site at http://alumni.adelphi.edu/upcoming.php often to stay up-to-date on scheduled events.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Regards,

Grady Faulkner ’75, president
